How to Remove Windows Genuine Advantage Vista
Microsoft sells Genuine Office and Operating System products for users who come across counterfeit or pirated Microsoft software. Qualified users can receive a copy of the Windows Genuine Advantage software; in order to receive this software, you must fill out a counterfeit report. This kit includes Microsoft Office Professional, Microsoft Office Small Business or Microsoft Home and Student Edition, all of which can be used on Windows Vista. You also have the option to remove the software if you want to use a different or recent version of the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Exit out of any programs or windows you are currently in. Save any of your work so you do not lose it. Log into your computer as an administrator.

Point your mouse to “Start” and double-click on the "Control Panel." Click on “Add/Remove Programs.” Click on "Windows Vista" on the program list to uninstall it.

Locate any other installed Microsoft or Windows programs. Click on those to remove them as well.

Restart your computer to remove any traces of the previous Windows software.

Point your mouse to “Start” once the computer is on. Double-click on the "Control Panel." Locate the Windows software to make sure it is no longer on your program list.

Point to “Start” and click on “My Computer.” Search for any file folders of the Windows Vista software and delete them. You can also use “Start” and “Search” to delete files.
