Directions on How to Install a Hallmark Card Studio in XP
High-quality printers are inexpensive and readily available to almost any computer owner. As a result, some people have taken to designing and printing their own greeting cards rather than purchasing them in stores. Not to be outdone, Hallmark has released a program called Hallmark Card Studio. This program contains thousands of pre-made cards that you can design and print, and Hallmark also sells greeting card paper stock that works with the program. You can get Hallmark Card Studio in stores or from the Hallmark Software website and install it on your computer running Windows XP or another version of Windows.

Insert the Hallmark Card Studio installation DVD or double click the installation utility downloaded from Hallmark Software. Allow a moment for the installation program to load.

Click the blue "Install" button at the bottom of the window. After a moment, the InstallShield wizard for Hallmark Card Studio appears. Click "Next."

Read the terms outlined in the license agreement for Hallmark Card Studio. You must agree to the terms to continue with the installation process. Click the radio button labeled "I accept the terms in the license agreement," and then click "Next."

Type your name, along with the name of the company that Hallmark Card Studio is registered to, if applicable. Click "Next."

Click the "Change" button if you would like to install Hallmark Card Studio in a folder other than the default folder. If you would like to use the default folder, click "Next." Additionally, the installation utility for Hallmark Card Studio creates a desktop shortcut for the program by default. If you do not want to do this, remove the check from the box at the bottom of the window before clicking "Next."

Click the "Install" button. The installation utility for Hallmark Card Studio copies the program files from the DVD or downloaded archive to the selected destination folder. Note that because of the large number of files, this process may take several minutes.

Click "Finish" when the installation process is complete. Hallmark Card Studio scans your computer for Microsoft .NET, which the program requires. If Microsoft .NET is not detected on your computer, Hallmark Card Studio installs it automatically.

Select the radio button labeled "I have read and accept the terms of the license agreement," and then click "Install" to install Microsoft .NET on this computer. Click "Exit" when the installation is complete. If you already have Microsoft .NET installed, skip this step.

Double click the shortcut on the desktop or navigate to the Hallmark Card Studio shortcut on the "Start" menu to run the program.
