How to Create a School Yearbook
Yearbooks are reminders of the years and a way to look back on memories from school. Being part of the yearbook allows you to experience all aspects of high school life through the pages you create. The yearbook committee has an important job as they group everything together for the rest of the students to create the ultimate memory book.

1
Create a committee of several people who will handle the yearbook. Appoint a head yearbook coordinator or project manager.
-
2
Obtain a list with all the social events for the year, field trips, academic clubs, sports and other festivities. Also, obtain a rough estimate of the number of teachers, staff and students so you can estimate the number of pages you'll need for individual photos. Divide all the events of the year and other items into sections of the yearbook. Assign a main editor or project manager for each section.
-
-
3
Estimate the number of pages you think the yearbook will be when finished based on the list of things to cover. Look into printing options and your choices as far as covers, types of paper, color versus black-and-white and other items to make sense of your budget and content constraints based on that budget.
-
4
Take photos at each event or function to cover it. Make sure someone is always photographing the sports, clubs and covering various holidays or other school activities which might make for good photo moments. Also, take random photos of the school itself, staff and students on a regular basis.
-
5
Download the photos. Design and edit each page on a computer.
-
6
Put all the edited pages together and organize in a chronological fashion or other themed manner. Design a cover and put together the table of contents.
-
7
Send the final files to the printer.

Tips & Warnings
Try to get event specific pages complete shortly after the actual date, so you don't get backlogged with pages later on.
