Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the computer, unplug it and remove the battery. This ensures that there is no current being supplied to the system. Do all of the following work on a hard-surfaced table and on a non-carpeted floor surface. Friction on carpet can easily cause a slight electrical shock that could damage the RAM.

    • 2

Locate the memory module compartment cover and unscrew the holding screw.

    • 3

Remove the memory module compartment cover.

    • 4

Touch a metal object to discharge any static electricity.

    • 5

Remove the existing memory, if replacing the memory module, by pulling the latches outward until the memory module is released and pull the module away from the connection slot. Do not touch any other motherboard components.

    • 6

Add the new RAM module by sliding the module into the open memory slot until it clicks into place. Be sure to line up the notch in the module with the notch in the memory slot.

    • 7

Replace the memory module compartment cover and tighten the holding screw.

    • 8

Reinstall the battery, plug in the computer and boot the computer.
