DIRECTV's HD DVR allows subscribers to schedule movies and television series to record. Once the DVR is connected to a home network, On Demand service and remote scheduling from a cell phone or Internet source are available.

Instructions

    • 1

      Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the output on your high-speed Internet modem. Connect the other end to the LAN port on your broadband router.

    • 2

      Connect a second Ethernet cable to one of the available outputs on the broadband router. Plug the other end into the Ethernet port on the back of your DVR.

    • 3

      Repeat step 2 for each DVR you want to connect. Your DVRs are now networked.
