How to Restore an HP Pavilion DV2100 to Factory Settings

Restore your HP DV2100 computer using the HP recovery CDs.

The HP Pavilion DV2100 is an entertainment notebook from Hewlett Packard. The computer comes preinstalled with factory settings configured to allow your system to function optimally. Over time, your computer may become slow and experience errors due to missing files and corrupted settings. Use HP recovery CDs to restore your computer to the factory settings. HP recovery CDs can be purchased from the HP website if your computer didn't include them.

Instructions

1. Turn your computer on by pressing the Power button. Press the F1 key when you the HP logo appears on screen. This launches the BIOS of your computer that controls the boot order.

2. Press the right arrow key to highlight "Boot" from the top menu. Press the down arrow key to highlight "Boot Device Priority" and press the Enter key to select. Press the down arrow to highlight "CD-ROM" drive and press the "+" key to move the CD-ROM to the top of the boot order.

3. Insert the first HP recovery disc into the CD/DVD drive of your computer and reboot.

4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the system restore. Reboot your computer when the restore has completed.

Tips & Warnings

• Restoring your computer is irreversible. Make sure to back up all data and files before performing a restore.
