How to Find Active Webcams on Yahoo! Messenger

A webcam is a small camera that records or streams video.

A webcam is a miniature recording device that allows you to stream live video onto the Internet. Some Internet users choose to use webcams for conference calls or to chat with relatives, while others use webcams to meet new people or record videos. Yahoo! Messenger is an online chat program that gives people the ability to use their webcams to interact with a wide range of users. An active webcam means the user is online and at his desk, ready to chat.

Instructions

1. Sign in to Yahoo! Messenger with your user name and password.

2. Click "Messenger" at the top of your Yahoo! Messenger contacts screen.

3. Click "Yahoo! Chat" and then "Join a Room."

4. Select a chat room to join, and then click "Enter Chat."

5. Enter the characters shown in the verification box, and then click "Submit." This is to ensure you are a real person and not a cyber robot.

6. Examine the list of active chat room members in the chat list. This is to the right of the main chat room box. Each member has a smiley face next to his name. If the smiley face is in a small box, the member has his webcam turned on.

7. Click the chatter's name and request to view her webcam.
