How to Install Logitech Drivers

How to Install Logitech Drivers thumbnail
A webcam is an example of a hardware device that needs a software driver.

Software drivers allow a computer to interface with a piece of hardware. Generally, drivers are used in slightly more complex pieces of hardware than the basic mouse or keyboard (which most operating systems have pre-installed drivers for). If a Logitech hardware device isn't functioning properly or if you are installing the device and do not have the original installation disc, you can download the driver from Logitech's website.

Instructions

    • 1

Examine the hardware's box or manual to discover the exact name and model number of the Logitech device. This will be important when selecting the specific driver from the Logitech website.

    • 2

Navigate to the Logitech support website (see Resources). Search for the exact product name and model number in the "Option 2" field. Alternatively, you can have the website auto-detect the attached hardware in "Option 1" or browse for the Logitech product in "Option 3."

    • 3

Click on the link that will download the driver for your device. Remember to choose a driver for your specific operating system, and version of the operating system. Your operating system appears in the Windows load screen at launch. You can also click "Start," right-click "Computer" and select "Properties" to view your edition of Windows. Apple users can identify their operating system by clicking the Apple icon in the upper-right corner of the desktop and choosing "About This Mac." A window will pop up detailing the operating system version.

Double-click on the downloaded driver installation file. Follow the onscreen prompts to install the driver. You may need to reboot your computer after installation.
