Video cards, just like all other hardware, need to stay up-to-date in order to function correctly on a computer. This requires you to install updated drivers on the computer from time to time, when updates are made available. Due to this, it is a good idea to check for updated drivers whenever you update and upgrade your computer system (including adding additional RAM, a new processor or a different operating system).

1. Open the Internet browser and navigate to the manufacturing website of your video card.

2. Select the "Support" feature on the website Although all websites are different, the phrasing is going to be similar on all sites.

3. Click "Downloads and Drivers," then select the product model you need to update. Choose the operating system running on your computer, then click the download link next to the listed driver. In a moment the free video card driver downloads to the computer.

4. Double-click the downloaded driver to activate the installation wizard. Accept the license agreement, leave the installation name and location as is, then select "Install." The updated driver installs onto the computer and then restarts the computer. If it doesn't, restart manually.
