Making a free printable card online is a cost effective way to create cards for your friends and family. Children especially love to make online cards for their family and friends because there are many sites that allow them to play around with the features on the card. Instructions

Make a Printable Birthday Card

1. Type the URL: printable-cards.gotfreecards.com in the address bar of your browser, and scroll through the selection of birthday cards on the main page.

2. Click on the card you would like to customize, which will take you to an editing page.

3. Select the "Cover" tab to personalize the front of the birthday card. Click on "Add Text" to write an additional message on the front of the card.

4. Choose a larger font if would like to increase the size of the text you have added to the card. Select from the various fonts such as Comic Sans and New Times Roman, and experiment with different text colors to make your message stand out on the card.

5. Upload a picture from your computer to add a bit of your own design to the pre-made birthday card. Re-size your image before uploading because a large picture will cover up the design already on the birthday card.

6. Click on "Inside" to design the interior of your card with a personalized message and your choice of font. Play around with the color and the size of the font as you did with the outside of the card.

7. Consider uploading a photo on the inside of the card, as you will have more room for designing than you did on the front of the card.

8. Decide whether you want to "Print 1 Sided" or "Print Front & Back," which will bring up a print window for selecting printer options.

9. Hit "Print" when you have set up all the print specifications.

10. Allow the ink on the card to dry after printing.

Make a Printable Christmas Card

1. Type the URL: 123printcards.com in the address bar of your browser, and scroll down to the "Free Printable Christmas Cards."

2. Decide whether you want to make a Christmas card that is "Cute," "Funny," or "Cards with Photo Images," and click on the corresponding link. Consider making a cute Christmas card, which is a theme most people will enjoy.

3. Scroll through the "Cute" Christmas card templates and decide if you want to make a "Simple Card," "Letter Card," or a "I Have a lot to Say" card.

4. Fill in the "Card Title Line" and the "First Sentence to the Receiver" with the message you would like to write.

5. Click "Make It!" to finalize the design of your card, which will take you to a print preview screen.

6. Go up to the toolbar and hit "Print" if you are satisfied with the appearance of the card.

7. Allow the ink on the card to dry after printing.
