How to Create a Webinar on a Mac Computer

How to Create a Webinar on a Mac Computer thumbnail
Use your Mac to create and broadcast interactive webinars.

In today's fast-faced world, it's not always possible to hold meetings and seminars in person. Webinar and web conferencing software gives individuals the ability to hold these meetings online. With the use of webinar websites, webinars can be created on Macintosh computers, and can include a variety of media including live and recorded video, audio, and PowerPoint slides.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on the Mac computer and open a web browser application such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Choose a webinar service. Navigate to a webinar website such as GoToMeeting, Webex, or Vyew (see Resources) to view the options and features available on each service.

    • 2

Sign up for a webinar service and set up a new webinar. Create a name, description, date, and time for your webinar. Adjust settings for the registration and privacy options for your webinar as well as interaction options that will allow users to communicate with you during the webinar.

    • 3

Upload any files you wish to use in your webinar presentation. If you wish to use PowerPoint or Keynote slides, audio files, or video files, browse for the files on your hard drive and upload them to the webinar application. Consult the user manual for more detailed instructions on uploading different file types to your webinar.

    • 4

Send out invitations for your webinar. Create invitation emails or post a link to your webinar service on a website.

    • 5

Start the webinar. Connect your webcam or video camera to your computer using a USB cable. Sign in to the webinar website you are using and click the "Start Webinar" or "Begin Web Conference" button. Wait for the webinar to start and begin your presentation. Click through your presentation slides as you go through your webinar. Click "End Webinar" or simply exit out of your web browser to end the webinar.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a webcam if you do not have a professional video camera.

  • Try a free trial test of each webinar service before paying for one.
