How to Insert a CAD Drawing Into Visio
Microsoft Visio is an Office product used to make complex diagrams and drawings, allowing you to analyze and graphically represent data. Visio has the capabilities to insert existing graphics, such as AutoCAD drawings and image files, into a diagram. AutoCAD is a software program for creating 2D and 3D models, architectural drawings and engineering designs. Visio is able to insert CAD drawings in the DWG or DXF format.

Open or start a new Microsoft Visio file.

Click the "Insert" menu, then select "CAD Drawing."

Browse your computer files until you find the CAD drawing you want to insert.

Select the file, then click "Open." The file must be in the DWG or DXF format. The CAD drawing will be inserted into the the Visio file. The view in which you last saved the CAD drawing in AutoCAD is what will appear when you insert it.

Click "File," then "Save" to save the changes to your Visio file. Now you can edit the Visio diagram as needed
