How to Connect an SCSI Scanner to a USB Port
A scanner must be connected to a computer so that the scanner software can communicate, control and process the images being scanned. A scanner using an SCSI (small computer system interface) connector cannot attach to those computers sold today that only feature USB and Firewire ports. The solution is to use an SCSI-to-USB adapter. This will allow the scanner to be "seen" by the computer and for the scanner software to be able to control it. Attaching a SCSI scanner to a USB port on a computer will not damage the computer or the scanner.

Tips & Warnings
The built-in USB port on a computer will work more effectively than using a USB hub.
Don't force the pins on the SCSI scanner cable into the SCSI-to-USB adapter. A bent pin will render the SCSI cable unusable.
