Turn on a Bluetooth adapter to pair your computer.

Computers without built-in Bluetooth capabilities can still successfully communicate with other Bluetooth devices when you use a Bluetooth adapter. These adapters, small enough to fit in a pocket, slide easily into a USB port. After inserting the Bluetooth adapter, your computer will be ready to connect with a cell phone, printer or the GPS device using a Bluetooth connection. Turn on a Bluetooth adapter to prepare your computer for the new connection.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the protective cover from the Bluetooth adapter to expose the USB connection. Some adapters may have a sliding design where you must slide out the USB connector.

    • 2

Insert the software CD into your CD drive and install the software necessary to use the adapter. After installing the software, your computer will be ready to recognize the adapter when you insert it.

    • 3

Insert the Bluetooth adapter into the USB port of your computer. Wait while your computer recognizes the connection.

    • 4

Start the software and use it to place the computer into the "Pairing" mode. After the computer enters this mode, you can then pair it with other devices.
