How to Reset a Wireless Adapter

Resetting a wireless adapter will revert the currently stored settings back to the manufacture's settings, wiping all previously stored personal information. Once restored, your wireless adapter will act as if it were fresh out of the box. If you have custom settings, i.e parental controls, these will all be erased. Therefore, make a note of any custom settings before a factory reset. Because it is irreversible, it should be the last step you take in solving the problem.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the circular recessed button marked "reset" on your wireless adapter.

    • 2

Use a pin or paperclip and press down the "reset" button.

    • 3

Wait for the wireless adapter to flash its LED lights and release the "reset" button. Allow the wireless adapter a minute to reboot and restore its factory settings.
