How to Measure the Reach of a Kitchen Faucet
Kitchen faucets come in a variety of styles, shapes, and sizes. The right faucet can improve the looks of your kitchen and increase the value of your home. When deciding on a faucet, consider configuration (double handle or single), style (high or low arch), finish and construction. Many of today's faucets also offer features such as a pull-out spray head, touch-sensitive operation, and temperature limit. Measure the horizontal distance from the faucet's spout to the point at which the faucet connects to the sink or counter top. For a high-arch faucet, the horizontal distance will run from the spout to a point on the faucet itself.

Choose a faucet that will swing in an arc large enough to cover the majority of the sink area.

If you will also be installing a counter top, choose the faucet before choosing and installing the counter top. Different numbers of holes must be drilled in order to install different kinds of faucets.
