How to Backup in Windows XP When There Is No Option Given
Windows XP comes equipped with a built-in backup client, although the backup utility is not installed by default along with the XP operating system. Install the backup client and perform a system backup using the Windows XP CD, a procedure that generally takes less than 20 minutes to successfully complete, depending on the speed of your PC.

Insert the XP CD into the computer.

Click "Perform Additional Tasks" and "Browse this CD."

Double click "ValueAdd," "MSFT" and "NTBackup." Double click "NTBackup.msi" to install the backup utility.

Click "Start," "Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools" and "Backup."

Click "Back up files and settings" and choose "Let me choose what to back up." Check the box next to the files you wish to save, select a location to store your backup file, and click "Finish."
