How to Change the Avatar on Skype
Skype is one of the best online communication tools to use with your computer. Since 2003, Skype has steadfastly been increasing the quality of its software on all fronts: audio, video, text, file sharing, and personal settings. One of the easiest ways you can make Skype personal to you is to change the avatar, or profile picture, by following these steps.

1
Start Skype, and locate the avatar window in the upper-left under your Skype name.
-
2
Click on the avatar window. This will open the Profile pictures window. From here, you may select one of the default ready-made profile pictures that Skype provides, browse any photo files you have stored on your computer and choose one of those, or, if you have a webcam installed, you may use it to take an instant snapshot to use as the avatar.

Tips & Warnings
If you use Skype for professional purposes, such as a business tool, then have your avatar also be a professional picture to match.
Avatar photos look best when they are perfectly square. If your photo doesn't look right or fit correctly, resizing or cropping it down may help.
