Resetting a Savin 9918 back to factory settings is sometimes necessary.

The Savin 9918 was a copier manufactured by Ricoh and sold under the Savin name. It produces copies at 18 pages per minute and has several features and settings that are user adjustable. There may be times when changes are made to the settings and set as the default settings. When this happens, if the settings are no longer desired or do not work well within an office's document work flow, resetting the 9918 back to factory settings can be accomplished in a few steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Back up any stored data. When resetting the Savin 9918, all address books and stored information, including any network connection settings, will be erased. Consult your owner's manual on how to back up the data you wish to keep.

    • 2

Press and hold the "./*" key and the "#" at the same time. Hold down both of these keys for at least 10 seconds.

    • 3

Release the keys when the copier shuts down. The 9918 will shut down and automatically power back up. When the 9918 has completed the power cycle, it will have been reset to the original settings.

    • 4

Test to ensure that the settings have returned to factory default. If some or all of the settings did not reset, either repeat steps 1 to 3 or consult a certified 9918 technician.
