FLAC or Free Lossless Audio Codec is an audio format that compresses audio tracks but does not reduce audio quality. FLAC is an open format, and FLAC files may be played on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X operating systems and also on a variety of home, car and portable devices. Some musicians offer their tracks in FLAC format, including the Grateful Dead, the Beatles and the Eagles, or you may choose to rip or convert lossless formats to FLAC. It is possible to play FLAC DVDs in supported car or home DVD players.

      Insert a blank DVD into your Windows 7 or Windows Vista computer's DVD drive.

      Click on "Burn files to disc using Windows Explorer" in the AutoPlay box when it appears on-screen.

      Type "FLAC Mix" or another appropriate "Disc title" in the "Burn a Disc" box. Click on "With a CD/DVD player" in Windows 7, or click on "Show formatting options" and "Mastered" in Windows Vista. Click "Next."

      Right-click on "Start," then left-click on "Explore." Navigate to the folder that contains the FLAC files that you wish to burn to DVD in the newly opened Explorer window. Drag and drop the files into your DVD drive's Explorer window, or right-click on files you wish to burn, then left-click on "Send to" and "Your DVD Drive." ("Your DVD Drive" will show the letter associated with your DVD drive.)

      Click on "Burn to disc" once you have added all FLAC files and folders to the drive. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the burning process.
