How to Make a Link to Open Windows Live Messenger

Windows Live Messenger is an instant messaging program that allows you to send and receive messages from friends that are online. Windows Live Messenger also allows you share images and stream video while chatting with a friend. You can make a shortcut link on your desktop that allows you to open Windows Live messenger at the click of a button.

      Right click in a blank space on your Windows desktop. Scroll down to "New" and select "Shortcut."

      Click "Browse" and use the "+" icons to navigate to the Program Files folder for Windows Live Messenger. This is located at "C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger" if you installed the program in the default directory. Highlight the file and click "OK."

      Click on "Next" and then enter "Windows Live Messenger" as the name for the shortcut. Note that you can change the name to suit your preference. Click on "Finish."
