How to Download Skype for Linux

Linux is an open-source operating system with much more advanced control over application than Windows computers. While Linux distributions generally have lower program application compatibility and support, some popular programs are still developed for the operating system. In addition to Windows and Mac versions, Skype--the global text, voice, and video instant messaging client--also has a Linux version. Steps for downloading and installing the Linux version of the program are specific to your operating system distribution.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your preferred web browser and go to the Skype website (see Resources).

    • 2
