How to Search for People on YouTube

YouTube is a popular video-sharing site on the Internet. Anyone with a digital video camera or webcam can visit YouTube and upload videos for the world to see. YouTube provides several ways to connect to people through its site. While each user has a specific URL, it can be difficult to find a specific person if you don't know his or her URL. Users can search the site using the built-in search function, use the friend finder, or use an external site to search for a specific person.

Instructions

    • 1

Search for the person you're looking for using the search bar on the Youtube homepage. This function allows you to search by usernames, video titles, video descriptions and tags.

    • 2

Use the person's email address to find her. YouTube gives users the option to allow people to search for them using their email address. If a user activates this option, you can use the links in the "Find your friends on YouTube" box on the YouTube homepage to find specific people.

Visit a social network compiling site. Sites such as Spokeo.com and FriendFeed.com allow users to search for people and find out which social networking sites they're part of. Use their email addresses to search for them on these sites.

Do a Web search. Use a search engine like Google.com or Bing.com to search for someone on YouTube. Adding "+site:youtube.com" after any name or phrase in Google will search for that name or phrase within YouTube. For instance, if you're looking for photographer Anna Fox, type: Anna Fox + site:youtube.com.
