How do I Add Toner to a Xerox 5328 Copier?

When the toner in your Xerox 5328 copier runs out, you'll need to replace the toner cartridge as soon as possible. If the old toner cartridge is empty, you'll either be unable to print or your prints will be faded or low-quality. It's not necessary to hire a professional to replace the Xerox 5328's toner cartridge. You can perform the maintenance procedure yourself even with limited experience working with office copy machines.

Instructions

    • 1

Push down the tabs on the paper-bypass tray. This tray is located on the right side of the copier. Slide the paper-bypass tray toward you to remove it. This makes it easier to access and replace the toner.

    • 2

Pull down the right-side cover panel with your hands. In this compartment, you'll find the toner cartridge.

    • 3

Insert a sheet of paper underneath the catch tray. Grasp the catch tray and pull it toward you to remove it. Don't tip or shake the catch tray.

    • 4

Roll the toner cartridge downward to unlatch it, and the grasp either side of the cartridge and pull it straight out.

    • 5

Open the new toner package. Shake the new toner cartridge gently for 10 to 20 seconds. This evenly distributes the toner inside. Slide the rubber band off the toner cartridge.

    • 6

Rotate the toner cartridge inside its carousel. You'll notice that the tube has a large arrow on it. Rotate the cartridge until the arrow is pointing directly at the "J2" label on the right side of the toner carousel.

    • 7

Insert the toner cartridge straight into the toner mount. Rotate the cartridge straight up until it stops moving.

    • 8

Re-insert the catch tray back into place, and then close the service door. Re-insert the paper-bypass tray to complete the toner-replacement procedure.
