Skateboard shoes are designed specifically to be durable against the abrasiveness of a skateboard. While sporting is the main purpose of these shoes, skateboard shoes are sometimes worn as a fashion statement as well as for function. Many features are added to skateboard shoes to increase their resistance against wear. It is common to find shoes with thick leather, triple stitching, thicker treads, deep sole patterns and more width to allow for greater contact with the board. Choose a shoe based on appearance rather than function if you will only be wearing them for regular use. If you are wearing them for skateboarding, then you should choose a shoe that is made of a sturdy material and that has thick soles and triple stitching.
