How to Edit My Username in Registry
Your username is what you use to differentiate yourself from others who use the same computer. At the startup screen on any of the Windows platforms, it will appear next to either a box or a photo if you have selected one. To alter your username, you have to dive into the Windows registry and change it. The Windows registry is where all sorts of information is stored, but be careful--deleting or modifying anything in the registry can cause your computer to crash.
