Wireless routers allow you to connect to the Internet from anywhere in your home.

Wireless routers allow you to access a high-speed Internet connection from anywhere in your home. Instead of having your computer or laptop plugged into your modem, the router is hooked up to the modem. Your computer then picks up the signal it emits to connect to the Internet. The routers are useful with laptops because you can use the Internet anywhere if you are connected to it. Setting up a wireless is a relatively quick process.
