How to Make Cajun Pecans

Fast and easy, these pecans beat Chex party mix. Really.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 3 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp. sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. dried thyme
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 lb. pecan halves
  • 1 tbsp. dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper freshly ground
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • Groceries
  • Skillets
  • Small Bowls
  • Stirring Spoons
  • Skillets
  1. Step 1

    Mix sweet paprika, thyme, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.

  2. Step 2

    Melt butter over medium heat in a nonstick skillet.

  3. Step 3

    Add pecans to skillet and cook about two minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Step 4

    Pour mixture of seasonings over pecans, add sugar, and stir about one minute, or until sugar melts.

  5. Step 5

    Serve warm or at room temperature. Serves 12.

  • Store the cooked pecans in an airtight container for up to two days.
