How Do I Store a Large Amount of Bubble Wrap?
Bubble wrap is used for a wide variety of things. Although most people might not think about purchasing bubble wrap themselves, it can certainly come in handy. Whether you're shipping a package, wrapping a present or moving, lining the inside of the box--or the items individually--with bubble wrap is one of the best ways to ensure the package ships, is opened or moved all in one piece. When you're done with the wrap, you can easily package it back up and store it your home to be used again at a later day, or you can purchase a bubble wrap stand to hold a large quantity of bubble wrap.
Instructions
-
Storing Bubble Wrap
-
1
Lay the bubble wrap onto the floor. Starting at one end of the bubble wrap, begin rolling the wrap to the other end.
-
2
Roll the entire length of bubble wrap until you're left with a large, cylinder-shaped bubble wrap roll.
-
-
3
Tie one of the pieces of yarn around the middle of the bubble wrap. Tie off the yarn into a double-knot so it stays in place. Keep in mind that you want to tie the wrap to keep it in the rolled shape; however, do not tie it too tightly so that the bubbles burst.
-
4
Tie the other two pieces of yarn to the top and bottom of the bubble wrap to completely secure the wrap.
-
5
Place the bubble wrap back into its original box. If you do not have the original box, use an empty appliance cardboard box. You can go to any appliance store and ask for a few boxes--most stores will be happy to give them away.
-
6
Close or tape the top of the box shut and store the packed bubble wrap.
Bubble Wrap Stand
-
7
Remove the bolts on either side of the stand, holding the horizontal bar in place. Slide the horizontal bar up and off of the stand.
-
8
Slide the entire roll of bubble wrap onto the horizontal bar.
-
9
Slide the bar back onto the stand.
-
10
Screw the bolts back in under the bar so it stays in place.
-
11
Unroll your bubble wrap--like toilet paper--from the wrap stand. Cut off the desired amount of bubble wrap.
