How to Make Wedding Reception Flower Centerpieces
Flowers, whether fresh or artificial, add to the overall decor of a reception table. You can intergrate the color scheme of the wedding in your centerpieces and use some of the same flowers that are in your bridal bouquet. Flower centerpieces can be arranged into a specific shape or design, or they can be put together as a bouquet in a vase of water. However, you decide to integrate flowers into your centerpieces, they are sure to add color and warmth to the room.

1
Cut the floral foam to fit just inside the decorative bowl. If you buy the full sphere-shaped floral foam, use a bread knife to cut the floral foam in half. If you buy the half sphere-shared floral foam, use a bread knife to trim the edges of the sphere.

2
Start with the large flowers. Push the stems of the large flowers into the floral foam, so that the bloom sits directly above the foam. Space the large flowers out so that just the tips of their petals are touching each other.

3
Fill in the spaces between the large flowers with the smaller flowers. Similarly to the large flowers, push the stems of the smaller flowers into the floral foam until the bloom is right above the foam.
-
4
Use either greenery or babie's breath to fill in the edges and any spaces between the flowers. No part of the floral foam should be visible. When you are finished with this step, you should have a decorative bowl with a dome of flowers coming out of it.

5
Tie the wide ribbon into a bow. Use the large paper clip to poke through the back of the bow and press into the floral foam at one edge of the decorative bowl.

Tips & Warnings
Even if you are using fresh flowers, practice with artificial flowers until you have the desired look. It will be easier to mimic that look than to try to create from scratch with fresh flowers.
If you use fresh flowers, do not make the centerpieces more than a day in advance, and keep them in a cool area prior to being placed on the tables.
