How to Use PSP As an E-Book Reader
You can use the PlayStation Portable's built-in browser as an e-book reader to read any e-book you have in HTML or plain text format. Many public domain books in these formats are available for free from websites such as Project Gutenberg and ManyBooks. You can read these books using your PSP's Internet connection, or transfer the e-book files to the device for use while offline.

Offline Use
-
6
Navigate to an e-book website using an Internet browser on your computer.
-
7
Locate the book you wish to read and download it in HTML or plain text and save the file to your computer. You may wish to give the file a simpler name, as you will need to use the PSP's text entry system to access the file later.
-
8
Connect your PSP to your computer using the included USB connector.
-
9
Turn on the PSP and select "USB Mode" from the Settings menu. Wait for the device to connect.
-
10
Open the PSP's internal memory or memory card. On a Windows computer, double click on the PSP's icon in the "My Computer" menu. In OSX, double click on the device from the desktop.
-
11
Drag the e-book file into the PSP's memory. For easy access, store the file in the root directory.
-
12
Press the circle button on the PSP to cancel USB mode, and open the PSP's Internet browser from the Network section of the main menu. You do not need an Internet connection, and the PSP's wireless switch does not need to be active.
-
13
Use the directional pad to scroll to the left of the browser's main menu and select "File." Select "Address Entry" from the list of options.
-
14
From the URL text entry screen, press the "http://" button until "file:/" appears in the text entry. You may need to press the select button until the correct entry screen appears. You may also enter the "file:/" text manually.
-
15
Enter the name of the file. Include any file extension information such as ".txt" or ".html." Your text entry box should resemble "file:/mybook.txt" without the quotes. Press Start to open the e-book.
-
16
Use the joystick and directional buttons to navigate the e-book.
