How to Fix Windows XP Without a Disc
The XP repair tools are contained on the Windows XP CD, but that is not the only location which holds the keys to fixing your Windows XP installation. Accomplish a repair of Windows XP without the system disc by using the built-in System Restore utility on your XP operating system, allowing you to restore your computer's settings to those of a previous, functional date.

Click "Start," "Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools," and "System Restore."

Click "Restore my computer to an earlier time."

Select a date prior to the time you started having your current problem with Windows XP.
