How to Install ActiveX on Vista

ActiveX controls are small programs that install themselves on your computer to improve or support the functionality of a website. Microsoft developed ActiveX as an alternative to Java applets. ActiveX controls can be installed manually or automatically through Windows Vista. Configuring Vista to automatically install ActiveX controls allows any website that requires them to install them on your computer without asking for your approval. Conversely, opting for a manual install requires you to approve ActiveX controls before they are installed.

    • 1

Click on the "Start" menu button and go to "Control Panel."

    • 2
