How to Remanufacture HP Ink Cartridges
The HP line of printers, like any other printers, eventually run out of ink, leaving you having to pay for a replacement cartridge. If you want to avoid paying this costly fee every time you need more ink, consider using a refill kit to add more ink to the cartridge you already have. It's a 5- to 10-minute job that requires just a little bit of skill.

1
Spread newspaper over your working area and set the cartridge and refill kit on top to prevent damage from ink spills.
-
2
Peel the label from the cartridge. This will expose four holes on the surface of the cartridge.
-
-
3
Fill up the syringe from the refill kit with 15 mL of ink by inserting the syringe needle into the bottle and pulling up the plunger. This amount should completely fill the cartridge.
-
4
Slide the tip of the needle all the way into the one of the four holes in the cartridge. Dispense the ink by pressing the plunger back down, completely filling the cartridge. Stop dispensing ink when it begins to bubble up around the syringe needle.
-
5
Remove the syringe needle from the cartridge. Wipe away any excess ink. Install the cartridge in the printer by opening the access door and pressing it into the inkjet head carrier.
