How to Change the Brush Head on a Sonic Care

After introducing the world's first sonic toothbrush in 1987, Philips Sonic Care became a leading manufacturer of sonic electric toothbrushes. Philips Sonic Care toothbrushes utilize high speed sonic vibrations to remove stubborn plaque and particles from the surfaces of your teeth, resulting in fresher breath, as well as healthier teeth and gums. For best results, change the replaceable brush head on your Sonic Care toothbrush every three to six months. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Grasp the large nut piece that screws the replaceable brush head to the handle of your Sonic Care sonic toothbrush. Twist the nut in a counterclockwise direction until the entire replaceable brush head piece comes free. Throw away the removed brush head piece.

    • 2

Unwrap the replacement brush head piece and discard the packaging.

    • 3

Look inside the handle of your Sonic Care toothbrush to locate the notches that are used to thread the brush head piece onto the handle. Line up the small bar pieces on the brush head piece with the notches inside the toothbrush handle.

    • 4

Slide the replacement brush head onto the Sonic Care toothbrush handle, making sure that the bars and notches thread together correctly. Take care to avoid damaging the notches on the inside of the toothbrush handle as they cannot be repaired or replaced.

    • 5

Screw the replacement brush head onto the handle of your Sonic Care toothbrush to complete the brush head replacement process. Turn the large nut piece at the base of the replaceable brush head in a clockwise direction until the piece is screwed on securely.

Tips & Warnings

  • Take the removed brush head with you to the store if you are unsure which type of replacement brush head to purchase for your Sonic Care toothbrush.

  • Sonic Care toothbrushes are only compatible with Sonic Care brand brush heads. Do not attempt to use an off-brand brush head with your Sonic Care toothbrush as it may damage the notches on the inside of the toothbrush handle.
