How to Donate One Touch Ultra Smart Meters
One Touch Ultra Smart Meters are blood glucose monitors used by people with diabetes. According to the One Touch Diabetes website, the One Touch Ultra Smart Meters are available for sale at a variety of retailers and pharmacies, including Walgreens, CVS and Drugstore.com. With a price of $84.99 as of August 2010, this item may be too much for some people to afford. If you have some One Touch Ultra Smart Meters that you do not want to keep, you can donate them so that they can get to people who need them, but maybe cannot afford them.

1
Identify organizations in your area that have a need for diabetic supplies like the One Touch Ultra Smart Meters. Typically this includes long term care facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, churches and shelters. You can use the Charity Vault website (see Resources) to look for such places in your area.
-
2
Contact any of the organizations where you are interested in donating your One Touch Ultra Smart Meters. Ask what types of meters they accept, what condition the meters need to be in and how to get your donation to the organization. Some organizations only accept new meters or certain brands of meters.

4
Take your One Touch Ultra Smart Meters to the organization, or send them by mail if you are not donating to a local organization. If you intend to claim the donation on your taxes, ask for a donation receipt before you leave the organization.
