How to Check Who Blocked You on Windows Live Messenger

If you use Windows Live Messenger to instant message with your friends, but there is one person who you may suspect is blocking you, there is no way to find out for sure, but there are some ways to check if perhaps that may be the case. Because of privacy issues, Windows Live Messenger cannot inform you outright when some user or another has blocked you. Some third-party websites assure you that they can do this for you, but divulging the information they require can be unsafe at best.

Instructions

    • 1

Constantly check the availability of the person who you suspect may have blocked you on Messenger. In order to protect the privacy of the user, Messenger will not inform you that this person has blocked you but instead the person will always appear as unavailable to you or "offline."

    • 2

Try to send a message directly to the person's email. If the person has blocked you, then that person will not receive the email and therefore never reply to it.

    • 3

Try to contact a mutual friend that can ask if that person has blocked you or is simply away.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never give your username or password information to any third-party website or software that claims to be capable of finding out who has blocked you on Windows Live Messenger.
