Steam is an online game service that provides digital downloads of popular PC games. When a game is purchased through Steam it is downloaded to the purchaser's PC via the Steam program. The download speed of the game, as with any download, can be influenced by a number of outside sources. Eliminating some or all of these sources speeds up the game download time and lets the user enjoy their game more quickly.
