How to Use the DS R4 Card Information Document

The R4 flash cart, like any other flash cart for the Nintendo DS, has the ability to play movies, music and homebrew games with the use of a MiniSD card. The R4 also comes with a downloadable information document usually as an RTF or TXT Read Me file to help you figure out how to install the proper software onto your R4 card.

  • MiniSD card
  • Card reader

Instructions

    • 1

      Insert the MiniSD card into the card reader. (Ref 1)

    • 2

      Double click on the R4 information document on your computer. It will open in WordPad and contains information for copying the files onto your R4 card. Read the information in the document carefully.

      Insert the card reader into your computer's USB port. Double click on the flash drive that mounts on your computer. (Ref 1)

    • 4

      Copy all of the R4 files that came with the information document onto the MiniSD card. Drag and drop the files onto the MiniSD card to copy them. (Ref 1)

    • 5

      Press "Eject" and remove the MiniSD card from your computer.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your R4 information document did not come with the R4 software you can download it from the R4 website. (See resources)
