Call-forwarding service allows you to forward calls from one phone to another so that you don't have to miss any calls. If you primary use your cell phone, you can still keep your home phone and forward your calls to ring to your cell phone so you can answer them right away. To subscribe to call forwarding service, call your local telephone service provider, and the provider will activate it on your account.

      Call your local telephone service provider to subscribe to call forwarding service. The telephone company will have this service available in a package with other services or a la carte. The prices varies depending on which local telephone company you have service through.

      Pick up the receiver of your home phone and listen for the dial tone.

      Dial *72# and listen for the tone. Enter 1, plus your 10-digit cell phone number. This will call the number you have entered for verification. If you use a rotary dial telephone, instead of dialing the # key, wait approximately four seconds and dial the number you want the calls to forward to.

      Answer your cell phone. You must answer the phone in order to activate the call forwarding correctly.

Tips & Warnings

  • To deactivate call forwarding, pick up your home telephone and wait for the dial tone. Dial *73# and your home telephone number. This will send your telephone calls back to your home phone.

  • All incoming cell phone calls will be applied to your cell phone plan minutes, even forwarded calls.
