How to Remove a Hard Drive From an iPod Put in an iPhone
Have you ever wished you could remove the hard drive from your iPod and put it in your iPhone so all your songs, games and photos would be instantly uploaded to your phone? Well, you can't just physically switch the hard drives of your iPod and iPhone, but you can use a free file manager application to transfer the data from one device to the other.

Visit the Apple App Store from your iPod Touch and iPhone. In the search key, enter "Discover." Discover is a free application that allows you to transfer files from your iPod to your computer and iPhone, from your iPhone to your iPod and computer, as well as files from your computer to your iPod and iPhone.

Select "Download" to begin downloading Discover to your iPod and your iPhone.

Click on "Discover" from your iPod. Songs, games and pictures already on your iPod are organized in folders.

Open Discover from your iPhone, as well as your iPod.

Select "Nearby" from your iPhone at the bottom of the Discover screen. After a few seconds, your iPod's name shows up on your iPhone. Click on your iPod's name from your iPhone.

Notice on the screen that all your folders from your iPod appear on your iPhone's screen. Select on the folders to open them. Click on any songs, games and pictures that appear on your iPhone from your iPod to upload them to your phone.

Click on the arrow to the right of one item---song, game or picture---that you'd like to copy to your iPhone. Select "Download" when the screen titled "The Following Operations Are Allowed" appears. When the item has finished downloading, select "Home" at the bottom-left corner of your iPhone. Select "Transfer," and you see the downloaded item on your iPhone.

Organize the items downloaded into your iPhone by selecting the arrow to the right of the item in the Transfer folder. Select "Move" when the dialog screen opens. Move the item into a different folder on your phone and then select "Done." You can also select "New Folder" from the dialog screen and create a new folder for items downloaded.

Tips & Warnings
Secure your iPod and iPhone so not just anybody can view your Discover files and folders. Select "Settings" from the bottom of your iPod's Discover screen. Select "Username" and create a user name for your Discover app.
Then select "Password" to enter in your own password. Select "Done" when finished. This way, you---or anybody else---will need to know your user name and password to access your files.
