Tutorial for the Powerpoint Viewer
Microsoft PowerPoint is a computer presentation application that allows users to create slideshows as a presentation aid. PowerPoint is one of several programs released as part of Microsoft's Office software package. If you have a PowerPoint file on your computer but do not have PowerPoint installed, you can use the free PowerPoint Viewer application to open the presentation. The PowerPoint viewer allows users to access the information within presentations and conduct slideshows using existing PowerPoint files.

Go to the "PowerPoint Viewer 2007 Download" page.

Click the "Download" link and save the installer to your hard drive.

Run the installer .exe file when the download completes, check the box to agree to the license agreement and click "Continue." The program will be installed on your computer.

Click "Start," "All Programs," and then "Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2007" to launch the program.

Browse your computer's folders for the PowerPoint file you wish to open, select it and click "Open." The presentation will launch as a full-screen slideshow.

Use the right arrow key or press the left mouse button to progress to the next slide and use the left arrow key to go back to the previous slide.

Press the escape key to exit the presentation at any time. Exiting the presentation will take you back to the original window you used to browse and open the file.

Close the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2007 window when you are finished viewing presentations.

Tips & Warnings
PowerPoint Viewer does not offer the capability to edit and create PowerPoint presentations. If you wish to have full editing capability you must purchase and install a version of Microsoft Office that includes PowerPoint.
PowerPoint Viewer 2007 can display presentations made with PowerPoint 2000, 2002, 2003 and later versions.
