How to Print Photos From the Scanner to Your Computer
Storing your photos on your computer saves space and makes them easily accessible. If you have a scanner, this is a simple process. Scanning pictures allows you to organize them and share them by email or social networking sites. After scanning the pictures, you can alter, enhance or restore them. Connect your scanner to your computer according to the manufacturer's instructions. Turn on your computer. Turn on your scanner.

Lift the lid of your scanner. Insert the picture, face down, lined up with the top and left sides of the clear glass. Close the lid.

Find your scanner's software on your computer. Pull it up on the screen. Adjust the resolution for the intention of your picture. If you plan to send it online, a low resolution of 75 to 100 ppi is fine. However, if you plan to print the picture, set the resolution at 300 ppi. A jpeg format works well for standard photos and printing up to 4 by 6 inches. Printing larger photos call for storing it in a TIFF format. Your scanner's software should walk you through all of these options. If not, consult the manufacturer's instruction manual.

Determine where you want to send the picture. Create and name a file so you find the photos after scanning them.

Click on the "scan" button on your computer screen, or manually push the "scan" button on your scanner.
