How to Lift Stains from Linoleum Floors

Things You'll Need
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
- Nylon-backed scrub sponge
- Clean cloths
- Linoleum floor finish

Soak up as much of the substance on the linoleum as you can with a paper towel. Discard wet paper towels, and continue to absorb the stain liquid or substance until there's no further transfer of stain to paper towel.

Pour white vinegar over the remnants to cover the stain. Sprinkle baking soda on top of the vinegar, and allow the foaming solution to sit on the stain for 15 minutes.

Nylon-backed scrub sponges clean linoleum without scratching. Scrub the stain on the linoleum floor using a nylon-backed scrub sponge, similar to those used for handwashing dishes. Use a gentle scrubbing motion to lift and remove the stain.

Dampen a clean cloth with plain water, and wipe the site of the stain on the linoleum. Dry the surface with a clean, dry cloth.

Buff the finish into the floor with a clean towel. Pour a small amount of linoleum floor finish on a clean cloth. Buff it into the surface of the floor if the floor looks dull after the cleaning process.
