How to Run CHKDSK from Floppy on XP

Chkdsk is a disk-checking utility in the Windows XP system that enables you to scan the hard drives on your computer for problems. Running chkdsk from a DOS floppy is necessary when the drive errors on your system prevent you from starting the XP system. This procedure generally takes less than 20 minutes to complete, depending on the speed of your PC.
