How to View Notes in Powerpoint

PowerPoint presentations are used to transmit information from a presenter to an audience by projected slide shows on a large screen. The PowerPoint software, part of the Microsoft Office Suite, offers presenters the option to view notes on a computer screen to aid in a presentation. These notes are not visible to the audience. If desired, notes may be printed along with the slides and distributed as handouts.

Instructions

    • 1

Open PowerPoint. From the "File" menu, click "Open." Browse to the desired presentation and double-click the file name. This will open the presentation in a new PowerPoint window.

    • 2

Scroll to the PowerPoint slide in the presentation that contains notes to view.

    • 3

Pull down the "View" menu and click "Notes Page." The screen changes to a tall view with a small image of the slide on the top and a text box with notes on the bottom. You can add more notes to accompany the slide if needed.

    • 4

Change the view to read notes more easily by pulling down the view percentage menu on the top toolbar and changing it to 150% or 200%.

    • 5

Return to the regular slide view by pulling down the "View" menu and clicking "Normal."

    • 6

Pull down the "File" menu and click "Print Preview." Pull down the "Print What" menu and click "Notes Pages." This is an additional way to view the notes, as the preview window will show all slides with notes attached.
