Download a PDF Merge program. These programs are adept at mixing lots of different PDF files, of any size, and putting them together into one continuous PDF document. They also allow you to merge PDFs that have several pages (e.g., merging an 8-page file with a 2-page file).

Install the program. Follow the installation instructions and, if prompted, enter your email address to sign up for software updates: each update will make your PDF Merge program faster and more efficient.

Open the PDF Merge program. All PDF Merge programs will have an empty box in the middle of the program window: this is where your separate PDF files need to be inserted before they are merged. Click on the "Add" button to insert your separate PDF files into the program. Similarly, click on the "Remove" button to remove any PDF files that you don't need merged into the final document.

Rearrange the separate PDF files into a desired order. PDF Merge programs allow you to put your separate documents into an order of your choice: by size, amount of pages or content. Most PDF Merge programs have a "Move Up" option and a "Move Down" option, which allow you to manually rearrange the files.

Choose a destination folder. Ensure that you select a folder that you can easily locate. Also, choose to compress the files if the program asks you--this will reduce the file size of the final PDF, making it use less disc space and making it more manageable.

Press the "Run" button (or the "Merge" button) to finish merging your PDF files. Open the final document to check that your pages are in order and are of a good quality.

Silkodyssey was free, but Batch PDF Merger wrote on the first page of the merged document. Batch PDF Merger wants $30 for a full version of their software.
