How to Do Marketing Blasts Without Getting Blacklisted
Marketing your website or business properly can bring you repeat sales or clients. With the invention of different programs that can send your marketing emails to thousands of people at one time with the click of a button comes one small setback: your IP address could get blacklisted. When that happens, you'll send legitimate emails to everyone, but no one will received them because they'll get blocked. And it could happen without you even knowing it.

Don't spam. This may seem obvious, but spam is one of the biggest reasons why IP addresses get blocked in the first place. If you send out unsolicited emails, people will complain. A large amount of complaints will get your server on a blacklist.

2
Use different IP addresses to send mass emails. One way to do this is to outsource your marketing efforts. Whoever you outsource to will have a different computer than you and thus a different IP address. To outsource, place ads on sites like Elance or Freelancer.com asking for help with your marketing. Describe what you need in detail so the workers will know what to expect. Then state your reasonable price so people can bid on the job.

Regularly update you computer's antivirus software. Some viruses embed themselves in your computer system's files. The virus then causes the system to send out spam, according to Blacklist.ie. The spam will appear to originate from your IP address. Run your virus software's update feature on a regular basis to ensure the software is able to attack and prevent new viruses that come out.

Keep your network server's security features up to date. According to Blacklist.ie, a major cause for blacklisting is open mail relays. Open relays can be used as a conduit. They send spam through your network connection. Spammers disguise their identities so that it seems like you are the one sending the emails. Make sure your computer's Windows security feature is set to send you automatic updates. You can do this by accessing your Windows security utility through your control panel. However, most computers already come with this feature set.
When you get message saying you should install security updates, install them. Just make sure the pop-up message you get is coming from your Windows system and not spyware.
