How to Replace a Specialized Bicycle Seat
Cyclists replace their seats for a number of reasons. Your bike may have come with a male or female seat, and you need the opposite form. Your seat may be worn out from use, or simply uncomfortable. You should replace specialized bike seats with seats from the same brand. Once you get the new seat, the replacement itself should only take a few minutes.

1
Locate the nut that keeps your bike seat in place. It is at the top of the seat stem. Insert your Allen wrench into the nut and turn it to the left to loosen it. Keep your other hand on the cam lever to keep it from turning.
-
2
Pull the old bike seat out of the stem once the nut is loose enough.
-
-
3
Lower the new specialized bicycle seat into the seat stem. Tighten the nut just enough to hold the seat loosely in place while holding the cam lever in place so it doesn't turn.
-
4
Adjust the bike seat so it faces directly forward. Push it down until it is roughly the same height as your old seat. Tighten the nut three more turns to hold it in place more firmly.
-
5
Straddle the main stem of the bike and lower yourself on to the bike seat. Make sure you can easily reach the peddles and put your feet firmly on the ground. The seat should also be high enough to keep your knees from hitting your arms when you peddle. Tighten the nut all the way and lower the cam action. Take the bike outside for a test drive.
-
6
Make any adjustments to the seat height by loosening the nut and raising or lowering the seat.
