Traditional Korean musical instruments are a unique range of string, wind, and percussion instruments that can be difficult to find and purchase. But Korea also makes many easily-purchased mainstream instruments for major music brands.

Research Korean-made musical instruments in order to get an idea of the wide array of choices available to you. A small amount of research will give you knowledge about traditional Korean instruments as well as modern instruments created by Korean companies.

Visit an Asian-centric music store in your area. These stores are generally small and independently run, but they could prove to be a terrific source of Korean musical instruments.

Discuss where to purchase Korean instruments with your local Asian community. You may find the Asian community in your area has a better idea where you could purchase Korean-made instruments because of their knowledge of the culture.

Purchase traditional instruments in Korea, or by ordering from a Korean website. Authentically Korean instruments, such as the buk drum, the janggu percussion instrument or the daegeum pipe, are not widely available in the United States.

Traditional Korean instruments are certainly not the only type of instrument made in Korea. For example, large amounts of Fender guitars and amplifiers are made in Korea. If you ask at your nearest musical instrument store, you should have no trouble finding musical instruments which have been made in Korea.
